The 2015 edition of the Designers of Things event in San Jose took place on Dec 2-3, and a balmy California winter weather contrasted somewhat with the omnipresent Christmas decorations.

Colocated with the BIOMEDevice show and Wireless Medical Devices conference, DoT leaned towards medical applications, but in itself had a broader focus of smart objects, wearables and innovation and was attended by a wide range of actors involved with smart devices covering various fields of industry and consumer devices.

Antmicro was invited to the show to exhibit as part of the IPSO pavilion, exhibition space organized by the IPSO Alliance which we had joined earlier this year, a diamond sponsor of the event.

At the booth, we showed our Smart Display solution based on Antmicro’s microcontroller GUI library combined with low-power networking using Contiki and IP Smart Object definitions.

The response to the technology was outstanding, with many inquiries about how to implement a solution like the Smart Display inside various devices, including some from our co-exhibitors. If you too think your device could use an embedded touch interface with smartphone-like looks running on a microcontroller, contact us – we can help you starting with hardware, through our GUI library and ending with customization services needed to get you there!
